Kalina Strzalkowski

Master printer and publisher Kalina Strzalkowski is the director of the Zein Editions printmaking studio in Vienna. Strzalkowski was born in 1988 in Krems an der Donau, Austria. She attended the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where she studied graphic arts and printmaking techniques in the masterclass of Prof. Gunter Damisch.

In 2010 Strzalkowski met master printer Kurt Zein, who had more than 40 years of experience in the field and was considered one of the most renowned printmakers in Austria and around the world. After having assisted him with various techniques for many years, Strzalkowski developed an ever-

growing fascination for the complex handicraft of printmaking and its aesthetic qualities.

After Zein's 2017 retirement, Kalina Strzalkowski took over the legendary printmaking studio Kurt Zein, now Zein Editions, with the aim of preserving old techniques while undertaking more experimental approaches. Zein Editions focuses on established and emerging artists on the local and international art scene, and collaborates with galleries, publishers, and institutions.
